Report Centre

laiks300.jpg - 52.82 KBThe Bureau is receiving daily considerable amount of claims, inquiries and complaints on corruption issues. To facilitate the procedure of lodging complaints, the Bureau established a Report Centre in 2003.

Report Centre is responsible for receiving reports on corruption cases from the citizens and legal persons. Reports can be both anonymous and in person, submitted in writing, by phone, e-mail or fax. The Bureau counts on these reports to fight corruption. Complaints from the public provide an important source of information for the KNAB to disclose corruption in the public service.

Lodging a complaint is simple and convenient. There is no need to make an appointment. All you have to do is to tell us about the acts, which to your view contain elements of corruption. We will help you in explaining what corruption is and how to lodge a complaint.

We encourage you to contact the Report Centre of KNAB if you want to report the following allegations:

  • criminal offences committed in public administration (e.g. misuse of office, exceeding official authority, giving and accepting bribes by public officials or other offences related to corruption in the Criminal Law of Latvia);
  • administrative violation of restrictions and prohibitions to public officials (e.g. additional employment, obtaining income, commercial activities, accepting gifts and donations, receiving supplementary payments as provided by the Law on Prevention of Conflict of Interest in Activities of Public Officials);
  • violation of rules of financing of political parties (political parties and pre-election expenditure amounts, anonymous donations and other provisions stipulated by the Law on Financing of Political Organisations).
