The Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau of Latvia (KNAB) in August of this year initiated a criminal proceeding for possible illegal funding (in a large amount) of political party “No sirds Latvijai” and association of political parties “Zaļo un Zemnieku savienība”.
There are three suspects and two persons against whom the criminal proceedings have been initiated. To suspects have been applied non-custodial security features – ban to leave country and prohibition to approach a specific person.
Additionally, we inform, that in the record keepings of the KNAB there is also another one criminal proceeding, which was initiated by Prosecutor General and sent to KNAB for continuing the investigation. The received criminal proceeding is initiated about the possibly done criminal offence from the side of the Chairman of Kurzeme region Court and is related to bribery and disclosure of non-disclosable Information.
Three people are currently involved in this criminal proceeding. Between them, one is state official, who holds a responsible position. During this criminal proceeding there are investigated criminal offences related to taking a bribes, disclosure of non-disclosable information, as well as bribery and organization of it.

KNAB states that no person is considered guilty until his guilt of a criminal offence is proved in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Law.
